Toft Golf Club Adverse Weather Policy

In the event of severe weather conditions, certain restrictions may be put in place by Toft Golf Club in order to protect both the course and the safety of those playing. Any guests/visitors who are unable to finish their round despite having paid will not be entitled to a refund, however the club will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the booking.

Waterlogging – In the event of heavy rain, the management team reserve the right to close the course to all play. If specific areas of the course are waterlogged, the management team reserve the right to close certain areas/holes of the course. In the event of flash flooding of the course, golfers already on the course are advised to find shelter and resume their round once the water has cleared. If guests/visitors decide not to wait for the water to clear, they will not be entitled to a refund. Golfers on the first tee will be informed if the course is temporarily closed due to flash flooding and their round will be re-booked to the next available tee time.

Frozen Conditions – Toft Golf Club does not operate winter greens at any point in the year regardless of the weather. In the event that the course is frozen and there is a clear risk to golfers, the management team reserve the right to close the course to all play. If specific areas of the course are frozen, the management team reserve the right to close certain areas/holes of the course.

Foggy Conditions – In the event of fog, the decision whether to start/continue the round lies with the golfer, as these conditions can vary suddenly. Golfers on the first tee will be advised of the conditions by the Pro Shop. If a guest/visitor decides not to start their round, the club will attempt to reschedule the booking to the earliest available slot. If golfers decide to play but do not complete 18 holes, refunds will not apply. The management team reserve the right to close the course to all play should the conditions be considered dangerous.

Lightning – If lightning should occur, golfers who are already on the course will be notified that they should stop playing and find the nearest shelter, by the sounding of the klaxon from the Pro Shop. The first tee will also be closed whilst lightning is in the area. Once lightning has ceased, golfers may then return to the course to complete their rounds and the first tee will re-open. If guests/visitors decide not to wait for lightning to clear and do not complete their round, they will not be entitled to a refund. If lightning is forecast, golfers will be informed of this before teeing off by the Pro Shop, however the decision is up to the golfer whether or not they choose to play. Any tee times missed due to forecast lightning will be re-arranged to the next available tee time.

Extreme Heat – Should temperatures reach extremely high levels, members and visitors will be reminded of the risks involved and encouraged to take precautions to avoid dehydration. If temperatures reach dangerous levels, the management team reserve the right to close the course in order to protect the safety of golfers.
